Highways
If you have a car, or are taking a bus, there are two main highways. From North to South, there is the Nanjing - Jinjiang - Yancheng Highway. From East to West, there is the National Highway 328, connecting with Shanghai. It takes about 10 hours to drive to Beijing and 3 hours to drive to Shanghai. Nanjing and Wuxi are only two hours away, Yangzhou is only an hour.
In 1999, access was further improved with the opening of the second Yangtze River Bridge of Jiangsu, the Jiangyin Yangtze River Highway Bridge. This bridge connects Wuxi, to the south of the Yangtze River to Taizhou, and has cut journey times dramatically.
