Chinese PLA Navy Birthplace

The attraction comprises two parts, the historic site of the birthplace of Chinese PLA Army Navy and the 1999-built memorial building in the shape of a warship.
A university has been built around the historic site, increasing its diverse nature and appeal, it is open for visitation. It is where the battles between the PLA (People’s Liberation Army) and KMT (Kuomingtang) were planned. The most significant moment of this headquarters is linked to the birth of the navy on April 23, 1949. All the furniture and decoration remain as they were during this period.
The new building is just down the road from the old. A large amount of images and literature was displayed in order to reflect the stories on the birth and growth of the Chinese PLA Army Navy. Large airplanes have been placed outside, so you won`t miss it. This attraction is planned to open on Oct. 1, 2009.

Chinese Communist Party Memorial (Taixing Branch)

The memorial is the historic site where the Chinese Communist Party set up an independent branch in Taixing City, Taizhou.
At the main entrance hall, a bronze statue of Shen Yi (1900-1928) can be found with the following inscription: A little fire can do big things. This phrase brings across the idea that one person, one group, one initiative can have large effects, reflecting his own life and contribution. The memorial houses biographical materials on the extraordinary life of Shen Yi, the history of the communist party, warfare materials and equipment.

Museum of Negotiation between PLA and KMT

This museum, located inside the Junior Middle School of Taizhou Middle School, was built in memory of the successful negotiation between the PLA and KMT. This negotiation was led by the famous PLA General Chen Yi, who managed to win the cooperation from leaders of KMT in Taizhou so that the two Chinese parties could work together to fight against the Japanese Army.
The atmosphere of this small museum is much different then that of others since many young students pass their time here, studying and contemplating their city and nation’s past.
Visitors will enjoy strolling through this building and noticing all pictures and displays. It is also a place of interest due to the traditional style architecture. The building was originally built in the mid 1900’s and served as the school library.

Huangqiao Battle Victory Memorial
Located at Huangqiao Town, this memorial was built to memorize the victory of Huangqiao Battle by the New Fourth Army against KMT. The memorial was built inside the Ding’s Garden, which functioned as the temporary commission of the New Fourth Army at that time.
The Ding’s Garden is a typical Chinese classical garden decorated with pavilions, bonsai, rockery, bamboos, and corridors, etc. Strolling through the garden, you’ll be amazed with its beauty and peacefulness. What’s more, you may also pay a visit to the nearby memorial tower of the Revolutionary Martyrs and learn their brave and noble spirits.
